Back in 1980, I asked one of my co-workers, a part-time musician, if he wanted to be my guest at a concert starring Al Stewart. The co-worker said "Isn't he the guy who did 'On the Border'?" I was thrilled that he mentioned that song (rather than, say, "Year of the Cat"). Then, at the concert, my friend watched Al re-tuning his guitar for "Nostradamus" and declared, "Far out! He's doing it in D-modal!". The co-worker and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary
